This extension is purpose-built for cloud environments where the Universal Code policy restricts direct access to local networks and file systems.

It enables secure, standardized file operations via the WebDAV protocol, which is natively supported by Windows and compatible with most third-party WebDAV providers. Through this integration, Business Central can interact with external file storage systems in a fully cloud-compliant manner.

The package includes an IIS-based web service that serves as a bridge between Business Central and the WebDAV endpoint. This component replicates the core functionality of the legacy File object used in on-premises Business Central, allowing similar outcomes without breaching cloud restrictions.

This extension is ideal for cloud migrations and hybrid scenarios that require controlled data exchange, such as importing master data, exporting reports, or automating file synchronization across systems.
